Wear sturdy footwear for working off trail and bring garden gloves plus a small hand hoe\, if you have one. Meet 10 a.m. Eastern 0.8 mile east of the Visitor Centre on Rugby Parkway\, near the bridge over the White Oak. DESCRIPTION:Last year’s Victorian Fashion Show (a first) proved so popular we’re doing it again! Registration details ($40 per person) are available HERE. The show in the Rebecca Johnson Theatre inside Historic Rugby’s Visitor Centre at 1 p.m. Eastern will be followed by a sumptuous afternoon tea at 2:30 p.m. Eastern in nearby Hester Hall.  Don’t miss it! And for the first time\, YOU can be part of it as well. If you have an outfit or costume from the 1880-1910 era to wear\, just send photos of it (front\, back and side) by day of the show to this EMAIL for review by period fashion expert Susan Jarrett. [Costumes designed for Cosplay\, Holidays or Fantasy role play are not appropriate for this event.] \nTravel back to 1880-1910 to enjoy the wonderful fashions that were popular in the days of Rugby’s founding. An amazing program is being put together to showcase the era. Please feel free to wear your Victorian best and enjoy this festive afternoon. Fashion Show in the theatre starts at 1 pm. with the tea to follow beginning at 2:30. DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Rugby State Natural Area for a free guided hike each month on the third Saturday. Winter into spring are great times to go hiking…no bugs! NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED. This hike in the Rugby State Natural Area will be led by Lisa Huff & feature any spring wildflowers that may be found in mid-April. Huff is East Tennessee Region Natural Areas Manager for the state Department of Environment & Conservation. \nLisa Huff \nThese free guided hikes are scheduled for the third Saturday of each month and start from the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre Porch (1331 Rugby Parkway\, Rugby\, Tennessee 37733) at 10 a.m. (Eastern Time). Leaders will be either local\, from Friends of the Rugby State Natural Area\, or from the state Department of Conservation. (No hikes are planned for June\, July or August on account of expected hot weather.) \nBring a daypack\, water and snacks to eat on the trail. These are is a 2-4 mile\, moderate but family-friendly hikes. Dogs on leash are welcome. Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. \nAfter the hike\, take some time to stroll around the historic town site.
