SUMMARY:Eric Wilson Memorial Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Rugby State Natural Area for a free guided hike in honor of the late Eric Wilson\, who helped build many of Rugby’s trails & whose birthday was March 17\, St. Patrick’s Day. Meet 12:15 p.m. at the Historic Rugby Visitor Centre\, 1331 Rugby Parkway. No registration required. \nEric was a retired math professor who built his own house in Rugby and lived here for years. These are is a 2-4 mile\, moderate but family-friendly hikes. Dogs on leash are welcome. Wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. \nAfter the hike\, take some time to stroll around the historic town site. Bring a picnic\, or visit RM Brooks Store for lunch! \nOvernight Accommodations: www.historicrugby.org

SUMMARY:Irish Road Bowling on Rugby Parkway
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a FREE outdoor participant/spectator game of Irish Road Bowling right in the middle of Rugby on slightly traveled Rugby Parkway. Teams form as the game starts\, depending on who is there. All ages! Takes about one hour on the route used.  Play or just watch as the game proceeds west\, then east. We yell “CAR” to clear the pavement if one approaches. Starting point is the Historic Rugby Print Shop\, or near it. This involves tossing an iron ball down the road\, with the team making it back to the finish (also start) in the fewest throws being declared that day’s CHAMPIONS and getting their picture on Historic Rugby’s Facebook page! A sooty trophy (survived Harrow Road Cafe fire in 2020) is held in the photo — and much fun is experienced by all. (Visit YouTube to see how it’s played in Ireland. We don’t bet on the outcome like they do. Our teams are very amateur/impromptu!) START TIME FOR TEAM PICKS IS 6 p.m. EASTERN\, or 5 Central for those coming across the nearby bridge from Fentress County. [Note 2 exceptions: June 22 starts at 5 p.m. EDT\, and Sept. 8 is the only Sunday date]
