Founder’s Day & Michaelmas Tea

October 5 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

On Founder’s Day we honor Rugby, TN, founder Thomas Hughes (1822-1897)  but also award someone else from recent history instrumental in propelling Historic Rugby and Hughes’ now-renowned village into the present and future. There will be artists and crafters on site, food available, and other features to be announced, including a performance at 1 p.m. Eastern by the Rugby Cornet Band. Also at 4 p.m. Eastern a special surprise presentation in the Rebecca Johnson Theatre. Bring the whole family for a day of wholesome fun and history extending back 144 years! FREE. Lodging is available at historicrugby.org .

Also, Rugby’s Christ Church Episcopal on this Oct. 5 date will offer its Michaelmas Tea, at the Friendly House just behind the church. Two seatings are available at Noon Eastern & 2 p.m. Eastern. Reservations at $20 per person are recommended. Email Bethany Jackson HERE or call 423-628-6250 for details & reservation.
