Christmas at Rugby Tour & BBQ

On the first two Saturdays in December, the historic settlement of Rugby, Tennessee, will come alive with Christmas spirit and celebrate the holidays as if it were still 1880, the year the town was settled.
The living Victorian-era village will bustle with caroling, holiday shopping and much more. Highlights of the Victorian Christmas celebration include holiday music, hot drinks and cookies in the decorated historic buildings, horse-drawn carriage rides (1-4 p.m. Eastern) food trucks, a visit from Father Christmas and the sounds of carolers performing throughout the village. Also, the Rugby Cornet Band presents an hour-long concert at 11 a.m. Eastern both Saturdays in the Rebecca Johnson Theatre, featuring holiday classics & a carol sing-along! Questions? The Victorian Christmas dinner in beautiful Hester Hall is now SOLD OUT for both nights. However, barbecue from Doug’s Nearly Famous Food Truck will be available, along with vegetarian items. In addition, Christ Church Episcopal will present a seasonal worship service of Lessons & Carols with an emphasis on music both Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. EST (3:30 Central) in the 1887 church. We’ll update here if anything changes.
Bonus event: FREE Christmas concert both nights at 8 p.m. Eastern (for those ticketed for the event or the sold-out dinner) in Rugby by musician Mike McGill, in advance of McGill’s 11th annual Christmas Spectacular at Knoxville’s Bijou Theater (Dec. 17). Just find a seat in Rugby’s Rebecca Johnson Theatre Dec. 2 or 9. But come a bit early since our venue only holds 100 max.
